PNF strechings
What are PNF strechings?
PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) when a muscle stretch is held the pull on the tendons stimulates the Golgi tendon organ (GTO) and cause the muscle to relax and lengthen, reducing the chances of muscle tearing. I hold the stretch until the muscle relaxes, allowing the patient to stretch a little further. Again, hold this new position until the muscle relaxes again, allowing a further stretch.
MET (Muscle Energy Technique) stretch
What is MET?
This stretch type is based on the concepts of Autogenic Inhibition and Reciprocal Inhibition. Autogenic and reciprocal inhibition both occur when certain muscles are inhibited from contracting due to the activation of the Golgi tendon organ (GTO) and the muscle spindles. These two musculotendinous proprioceptors located in and around the joints and muscles respond to changes in muscle tension and length, which helps manage muscular control and coordination. When the muscle contracts, the GTO is activated and responds by inhibiting this contraction (reflex inhibition) and contracting the opposing (antagonist) muscle group. Muscle Energy Techniques can be used for any condition in which the goal is to cause relaxation and lengthening the muscles and improve range of motion (ROM) in joints.

Dorn Therapy
What is Dorn Therapy?
Dorn Therapy is a gentle vertebra and joint treatment used for ailments directly or indirectly connected to the spinal column. It is completely safe, simple, effective and rapid. During treatment sessions you will be taught simple exercises to do at home that reinforce and continue the treatment – and that means fewer therapy sessions.
Emphasis is placed on correcting subluxations (partial displacement) of the hips. Because of the mobile nature of the hip joint it is relatively easy for it to ‘slip’ out of its correct position. Subluxation of the hip causes uneven leg length, which throws the pelvis off its horizontal plane and leads to various problems of the spinal column. The body seeks to maintain balance and will compensate for displaced joints, but this comes at a price, namely undue strain on various muscles, ligaments and tendons. In chronic conditions the muscles are permanently tense, nerve fibres are compressed and all body processes are compromised.
Apart from obvious ailments such as back pain, headaches, sciatica, ‘arthritic’ knees and hips, wry neck, tennis elbow and shoulder pain, organ dysfunctions can often also be traced to the spine. In many cases Dorn Therapy, as part of an holistic treatment programme has removed the necessity for surgical solutions such as hip and knee replacements or spinal fusion.
This treatment is completely safe and is free of unpleasant side effects. You will be amazed at the results you’ll get with this treatment.
